Kura Hulanda Designer Leo Helms filled-in for Jacob Gelt
Dekker who, at the last minute, was unable to attend the 3rd
Congress of the Federation of Caribbean Associations of
Architects. The theme of the Conference, held at the
Renaissance Convention center was "The Impact of Tourism on
Architecture and Vice Versa.
Mr. Helms was the opening speaker and took the attendees on
a journey through the evolution of Eco-Tourism through to
today's Eco-Lodges, using Lodge Kura Hulanda in Curaçao as
an example.

(The Federation of Caribbean Associations of Architects (FCAA)
represents the Caribbean region of the Federation of
Pan-American Associations of Architects (F.P.A.A.) The
FCAA's main objective is to gather Caribbean architects and
architects from neighbouring countries of the Caribbean
basin in order to vreinforce the professional, artistic,
intellectual and friendly relationships between them.)
